What is heart failure?
As a result of a heart condition (cardiopatia canina), this body is not able to pump blood in sufficient quantity: in the supply. Thus, blood pools in the veins leading to the heart, creating an overpressure therein. Having too much pressure within the veins, blood serum through your walls and goes to the tissues, producing edema, namely, fluid accumulation. If the left side of the heart is unable to pump blood wealthy, Pulmonary edema occurs, and if the right occurs in the abdomen and liver size increases abnormally.
My pet has much fatigue and coughing.
1. No resistance exercise
Exercise intolerance is a common symptom of heart failure. The animals were much fatigued when they play, corren o, when the problem is very advanced, just walking. They even syncope may suffer from lack of oxygen.
Coughing can also be a symptom of heart failure, when the edema that occurs affects the lungs.
3. Has swollen belly and cold
This symptom is that is taking abdominal edema. Its technical name is "ascites" and may also result in heart failure.
4. Why is it so important to see the vet?
It is absolutely necessary to treat heart failure to improve the condition of the animal and the vet find out what causes it to eliminate or, at least keep it under control if we are faced with an incurable problem; thus, our pet can return to enjoy a good quality of life.
